Welcome to iVend!

iVend is an Electronic Commerce module for the Roxen Challenger information platform. iVend provides the framework for sophisticated commerce applications within a flexible, simple to use environment.

iVend was designed to be simple to set up, yet be able to handle complex commerce situations. Here are some of the features in iVend:

• One virtual server with one copy of iVend may handle many stores.
• Supports browsers with or without cookies.
• Browser based store setup and administration.
• iVend's RXML tags make customising the store's look and feel simple.
• SQL based data storage allows alternate administrative interfaces to be created using tools such as MS Access.
• Flexible tax calculation.
• Nested Groups.
• Simple pricing support.
• Complex pricing support, including graduated pricing scales, pricing based on quantity, and buy X get Y schemes.
• Supports per item, order total, and UPS Zone shipping calculation.
• Supports Item Options, such as size, color and other attributes.
• Upsell feature allows related items to be offered with an item.
• Affiliate program handling allows you to host your own affiliate program. (coming soon)
• Product information pages may be predefined or dynamically generated.
• iVend engine may be extended by defining custom tags and containers, event handlers, path handlers and more.
• Plus, all of Roxen's power is still available within an iVend store.

Currently, iVend is under heavy development and is being tested by a small group of alpha testers. When a version is available for more general consumption, a notice will be posted here.

05 September 1999 Update

A Beta Quality Release is near. The documentation is the current hold-up. Stay tuned, or send a note to the address listed below.

iVend is free for non-commercial use. For other uses, there will be a per store license fee of (US)$200. Source will be available for download from this site for demonstration and testing purposes, as well as non-commercial use. Support contracts will also be available upon the release of iVend.

Included in the license fee is "up and running" support, as well as a listing in the iVend Galleria.
